Rocky Creek Sandstone Kerb and Channel Historical Assessment, Postmans Ridge

Postmans Ridge

Project overview

Our Archaeologist Sher recently undertook an archaeological and significance assessment of historical sandstone kerb and channel at Postmans Ridge, Southeast Queensland in conjunction with TMR’s Southern Queensland Region.

This project included the uncovering of historical sandstone features dating back to c. 1928 and is the only known example of these early construction works within the Lockyer Valley region. The project also includes a removal and relocation program to salvage and retain the items at an alternative site for future preservation.
